What is the DoD Directive 8570?
The DoD Directive 8570 is a formalized training and certification policy for all personnel with access to DoD information systems. It specifies that all Information Assurance (IA) personnel be trained and certified according to their job functions. All IA workforce in the Technical category (IAT) must obtain IA certification and an operating system certification for the operating system(s) they support.
