Sales Representative – Enterprise Applications
Business Relationships:
Reports directly to Team Lead in Oracle. Contact with customers, vendors, and internal staff members.
Job Summary:
Maintains relationships and favorable contacts with current and potential accounts in the high tech sector. Generate revenue by selling products and services to new and current users within an assigned territory through face to face contact. Sells products for various vendors to businesses at sales office, or customer’s place of business by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops successful relationships with various vendor representatives
- Responsible for annual revenues in excess of 2 million dollars
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from direct mail responses, card deck leads, aged leads, bingos, dealer resellers, newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources
- Makes outbound lead follow up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and email to qualify leads and sell products and services
- Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales
- Works with vendor organizations to overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers
- Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales orders for orders obtained
- Builds and maintains relationships
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries
- Occasional travel for trade shows, customer visits, vendor visits, etc.
- Occasional travel within territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers in sales floor or by phone
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained
- Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts
- Enters new data and other sales data for current customers into computer database
- Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries
- Other related duties as assigned
Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- One – two years of sales experience (Preferably in product and IT)
- Experience with government sales preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to travel
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge and ability to use various software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines
- Basic Math skills
