Five-year BPA will provide Social Security Administration with more efficient acquisition of open source technology

Herndon, VA — (December 2, 2014)DLT Solutions, a leading value-added reseller in government information technology (IT) software and services, today announced that it was awarded a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) with Social Security Administration (SSA) to be the sole provider of Red Hat Software and Services. This is a new contract for DLT Solutions and has a one-year base period with four one-year options.

As part of the Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative, this five-year BPA will help SSA consolidate purchases across their enterprise, specifically for key components of their datacenter infrastructure as they prepare for datacenter consolidation and relocation. Under the terms of the contract, DLT Solutions will provide Red Hat software including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat JBoss Middleware, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization and Red Hat CloudForms, the company’s hybrid cloud management offering.

“With the expanding adoption of open source technologies by government agencies we are enthusiastic about SSA’s efforts within their FDCC initiative,” explained Jim Propps, director of sales for Enterprise Platforms, DLT Solutions. “This is another strategic win for us and further demonstrates our commitment to Red Hat and bringing innovative open source software to federal agencies.”

As Red Hat’s largest government reseller, DLT Solutions offers the full portfolio of Red Hat software, consulting services and training, including the recently announced Red Hat Cloud for Government.

Earlier this year DLT Solutions launched DLT Cloud Navigator, an initiative that provides sector customers with simplified access to today’s leading products, services, contracts, tools and expertise for cloud computing. Under DLT Cloud Navigator, the company offers CODEvolved, a private Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution architected by DLT Solutions. The solution brings together Red Hat’s award-winning OpenShift Enterprise software and Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) to deliver rapid application development, testing and hosting environment built entirely in the cloud.
