DLT Solutions to Provide Enterprise-Grade Software Collaboration Capabilities for Government Agencies Through Strategic GitHub Partnership

Wednesday, August 12, 2015

Herndon, VA — (August 12, 2015) – DLT Solutions, a leading technology partner to federal, state and local government, and education markets, today announced a new partnership with GitHub to provide its GitHub Enterprise solution to DLT’s public sector customers.

GitHub Enterprise offers powerful collaboration, code review and code management capabilities for open source and private projects and is an on premise version of GitHub.com where more than 10.1 million developers have built more than 24.5 million projects. Built for the rigors of modern organizations, GitHub Enterprise provides customers with source control management, collaborative code review, powerful search, enterprise-grade security, intelligent issue tracking, and more – all integrated into existing agency workflows.

“GitHub Enterprise provides agencies a platform for code sharing and collaboration, allowing developers to take advantage of work being done across the organization,” said Elizabeth Pemmerl, head of GitHub Public Sector. “It is exciting to support the variety of innovative projects that government agencies are managing on GitHub, and we look forward to working with more agencies through our DLT partnership.”

This is GitHub’s first government reselling partnership and reflects DLT’s ongoing commitment to providing public sector customers with leading open source technologies.

“Software development is often a fractured process in government,” said Jim Propps, director of the Enterprise Platforms Division, DLT. “Legacy application development tools often fall short, and then developers have no way to see how others are working, leading to duplication of effort. With GitHub Enterprise, agencies benefit from a platform that integrates with many tools and supports various workflows, thereby providing a common denominator for developers and greater value to the overall development effort. Adding GitHub to the DLT open source portfolio is another important step in ensuring we are providing our government customers the best available open source solutions.”

DLT’s current open source portfolio also includes Red Hat, CloudBees and Ansible.

GitHub Enterprise customers will also have access to DLT’s considerable portfolio of Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs). For federal government customers the contracts include SEWP V and NIH CIO-CS. For state and local government customers, the primary contract is SLED – TIPS (The Interlocal Purchasing System.)
