Brent
is the Chief Technology Officer for Anakam within the Equifax Technology and Analytical Services
group. He has been instrumental in positioning the Anakam Identity Suite
as the leading user authentication and identity proofing solution for
government and commercial use. Brent is a seasoned information security
professional with over 20 years of experience as a government and industry
practitioner. Brent graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and went on to
serve on nuclear submarines. In addition to his submarine duty, Brent was
selected to serve at The White House supporting emergency preparedness
activities and national security policy development. He completed his
graduate degree in engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
M.J. Johnson - Senior Product Marketing Manager - Akamai
M.J. Johnson is a Senior Product Marketing Manager for Akamai’s DSA and Mobile product lines. M.J. has held a variety of Senior Product Marketing and Product Management roles at companies including Adobe Systems, Vignette Corporation and Softrax Corporation - having worked closely with Sales, customers, press and industry analysts. Earlier in his career, he held Technical Producer and Product Designer roles where we was responsible for designing corporate web sites and prototyping user interface components for ActiveX deployment. In addition, M.J. holds a Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University.
Will Law – Principal Architect Media Cloud Engineering Group – Akamai
Will
Law is a Principal Architect within the Media Cloud Engineering group at
Akamai. He has been involved with streaming media on the web for the last
decade with a strong focus on client-side development. He has written many of
the early connection frameworks that still drive much of the traffic flowing
over Akamai today, including OVP, HDCore and OSMF. He has a current focus
on HTTP delivery, HDNetwork, MPEG DASH, mobile media, connected devices and
security. Law holds Masters degrees in Aerospace
Engineering and an MBA and worked previously for Adobe, VitalStream and a
series of five engineering and media-related startups.
Steve Riley – Technical Leader in the Office of the CTO – Riverbed Technolgy
Steve Riley is Technical Leader in the Office of the CTO at Riverbed Technology, an innovator in wide-area networking and storage optimization. Steve actively works to raise awareness of the technical and business benefits of Riverbed's solutions, particularly as they relate to accelerating the enterprise adoption of cloud computing. His specialties include information security, compliance, privacy, and policy. Steve has spoken at hundreds of events around the world, including RSA, SANS, Black Hat Windows, InfoSec US, (ISC)2, SIIA, IANS, TechEd, DevConnections, The Experts Conference, Cloud Expo, Cloud Connect, CloudCamp, and Interop. He co-authored a book about Windows network security, contributed a chapter to a book on auditing cloud computing, has published numerous articles, and conducted technical reviews of several data networking and telecommunications books. Before Steve joined Riverbed, he was the cloud security evangelist at Amazon Web Services and a security consultant and advisor at Microsoft. Born with an Ethernet cable attached to his belly button, Steve grew up in networking and telecommunications. Besides lurking in the Internet's dark alleys and secret passages, he enjoys freely sharing his opinions about the intersection of technology and culture.
Michael Cucchi - Director, Product Marketing - Akamai Technologies, Inc.
Michael Cucchi is the Director of Product Marketing for Akamai’s Enterprise Cloud division. In his role, he sets the go-to-market strategy for positioning Akamai’s solutions towards strategic IT initiatives within the enterprise such as cloud computing, web application performance, and cloud security. Michael has over 18-years of engineering, management and marketing experience in the high-tech industry.
Before to joining Akamai, Michael spent five years running a major data center for the US Federal Government. From there Michael served as Director of Sales Engineering at Ammasso, where he helped launch the world’s first Ethernet based cluster interconnect. He was also integral in launching a next generation IP based video recording technology as Director of Technical Services at Timesight Systems Inc. Most recently he served as Sr. Director of Global Product Marketing at Expand Networks, who is a pioneer and leader in the WAN Optimization space.
Tom Kireilis - Program Executive and Product Line Manager - GSA’s Software as a Service (SaaS)
Tom Kireilis joined the Federal Government post 9/11. He currently serves as the Program Executive and Product Line Manager for GSA’s Software as a Service (SaaS) suite of cloud based initiatives. Previously he served as the Program Executive for GSA’s EGov Travel Service ETS2 Acquisition planning effort. In previous positions at GSA, Mr. Kireilis served as the Deputy Director of the Office of Infrastructure Optimization where he provided oversight of three Presidential Initiatives of the President’s Management Agenda: SmartBUY, E-Authentication, and Homeland Security Presidential Directive -12. Mr. Kireilis also served as the Director of the Federal Government’s SmartBUY Initiative. His advice in negotiating enterprise licensing agreements has been sought out by the governments of Canada and the United Kingdom and he has set up active dialogue between the respective governments on strategic sourcing issues. Prior to joining the Federal Government he was a manager, working as an IT Auditor and IT Security Practitioner with such firms as KPMG and Citigroup.
Joseph Wykes – President – Percussion Software
Joseph Wykes has a long history of success at Percussion Software. As the Managing Director of European Operations, Joe led Percussion to record sales and dramatically grew the operating infrastructure. He more recently led worldwide sales and alliances from Percussion's San Francisco office. Prior to Percussion, Wykes practiced law at Lamb Building in the UK and is a member of The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple which is responsible for the training and regulation of barristers in England and Wales. Joe holds a BA from the University of London, a CPE from SouthBank University and is a graduate of the Inns of Court School of Law.
Tom Dougherty – Akamai – Principal Technical Project Manager
Tom Dougherty joined Akamai Technologies, Inc. in 2005 and is currently a Principal Technical Project Manager within the Public Sector division. During his 6+ year tenure at Akamai, Tom has spearheaded strategic initiatives with US Federal Government customers and is a leading authority within Akamai for Identity Management in the Cloud. Specifically, Tom has led projects with the Global Combat Support System – Air Force (GCSS-AF) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Cloud Authentication solutions focusing on secure validation of end-user credentials / identities on the Akamai platform.
Prior to Akamai, Tom spent 5 years at Accenture as a Technical Consultant, where he supported large system integrations for both Private and Public Sector organizations. During his time at Accenture, Tom received hands-on experience with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including roles in software design, development & testing, as well as enterprise system architecture and project management.
Marcelo Olascoaga – GSA – Service-Line-Manager (IaaS)
Marcelo Olascoaga is the Service-Line-Manager for the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) blanket purchase agreement within the General Services Administration. Prior to working on GSA Cloud related contracts, Mr. Olascoaga has served as the Deputy Director for Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) Programs.
Previously, Mr. Olascoaga was a government contractor and an entrepreneur managing a start-up technology company conducting business in the United States and Latin America. Afterwards, he resumed his federal career in a start-up Government agency where he was responsible for Enterprise Architecture, Capital Planning and Investment Control, and IT Strategic Planning. He continued his federal career as a CIO for an agency within USDA before joining the GSA.
Michael Lemire – Acquia – Director of Information Security
Michael Lemire is Director of Information Security at Acquia and is responsible for the design and management of Acquia’s security program, which provides Information, IT and Product Security along with Business Continuity and Crisis Management. He joined Acquia in 2011. Mike headed the Information Security team at RiskMetrics Group and has held technical and management positions at MSCI, JPMorgan, Moore Capital Management and Time, Inc. Mike earned his B.S. from New York Institute of Technology and has attended postgraduate education at Columbia and Boston University. Mike was certified as a CISSP in 2006.
Stephen R. Kovac - Terremark Federal Group, a Verizon Company - Senior Vice President
Stephen Kovac is responsible for directing Terremark's strategy for the planning, development, and execution of the Company's Federal Government sales, including new revenue generation and customer relationship management. He is charged with developing the IT Services and Security Solutions focused on the Global Government and Public Sector customer segment for Terremark Federal Group, a Verizon Company. These services include Datacenter Services, Hosting Services, Managed Applications, IT Services Security Solutions, and Professional services. In 2011, Verizon purchased Terrremark, making Verizon the leading Government Cloud and largest managed security solutions provider on the planet. Mr. Kovac expanded his responsibilities to build and lead a team of Cloud, IT and Security specialists specifically trained to meet the needs of our Global Government and Education customer.
Prior to assuming this role at Terremark, Kovac spent the previous five years serving as Area Vice President, Global Services at Verizon Business, responsible for Information Security, Cloud Computing, Managed Hosting and Datacenter Infrastructure sales for Federal and State/Local government entities.
With more than 17 years of experience with Verizon, Mr. Kovac has also held senior leadership positions in many managed services including , IT outsourcing, He has managed a wide range of Verizon solutions offerings encompassing Enterprise-wide premises, edge, and WAN applications, Basic Network services to Advanced Fiber Optic switching and Private Networking as well as complementary offerings such as Professional Services, Voice/Data/Video CPE, Call Center Services, IPT and Managed Network Services, Security, Healthcare and Mobility.
Mr. Kovac was first educated Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX, and later finished his studies at University of Missouri, St. Louis.
Prior to the joining the communication industry Mr. Kovac worked in the investment banking business and was an inventor and entrepreneur. He has been awarded seven US Patents since 1991 and is still an active design architect on several IT and related projects.

Jon Anderson – Akamai – Principal Solutions Architect and CISSP
Jonathan Anderson has 10 years of experience in Public Sector IT, focusing primarily on Web application development, security, scaling and content delivery. He is currently a Principal Solutions Architect and CISSP working for Akamai's Public Sector Services and Support team, where he helps his customers leverage the Akamai Platform to go big, go fast, and stay secure. He's comfortable working with the Application, Transport, and Internet layers of the TCP/IP stack, with the IPv6 and SSL/TLS protocols being particularly near and dear to his heart.
Christine Schweickert – Akamai Technology – CISSP, PMP, ITIL v3
Christine, a five year Akamai veteran is currently a Public Sector Senior Engagement Manager and supports Security and IPv6 efforts. Prior to coming to Akamai, Christine supported many government agencies as a network and systems engineer, including 10 years of active duty service in the US Navy.
Michael Smith – Akamai – Security Evangelist
Michael Smith serves as Akamai’s Security Evangelist and is the customer-facing ambassador from the Information Security Team, helping customers to understand both the internal security program and the unique security features and capabilities of the Akamai product portfolio and cloud-based solutions. Mr Smith fulfils a cross-functional role as a liaison between security, sales, product management, compliance, engineering, professional services, and marketing.
Prior to joining Akamai, Mr Smith served as an embedded security engineer, security officer for a managed service provider, and security assessment team lead. He is an adjunct professor for Carnegie Mellon University and teaches through the non-profit Potomac Forum.
Fran Trentley – Akamai – Senior Service Line Director
Fran Trentley joined Akamai in 2006 and is the Senior Service Line Director for Akamai’s Public Sector business. As Sr. Service Line Director, he is responsible for overseeing Akamai's managed services offerings including In the Cloud (ITC) Security Services for the U.S Government. He currently supports over a hundred US Government customers with Internet based services as well as managing Akamai instantiations and services on both DoD’s NIPRnet and SIPRnet.
Fran Trentley is a distinguished combat veteran with over 20 years of military experience. With both a Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science Degree in Computer Science, he has had assignments integrating intelligence support systems at the Defense Intelligence Agency, C4ISR systems for U.S. Army and most recently converged VIP communications at the White House Communications Agency (WHCA). Serving as WHCA’s Chief Information Officer Fran was responsible for the most comprehensive technology modernization effort in the Agency’s history and is a Hall of Fame inductee.
