Outsourcing Cybersecurity? Feds get behind the idea.

Are agencies embracing the concept of “Security-as-a-Service”? A recent GCN article thinks so. They point to a recent $6 billion blanket purchase agreement to 17 companies for cybersecurity services and tools, and conclude that the government might look to outsourcing as a solution to their security problems.

Gartner: Amazon Still Public Cloud Leader by a Long Shot

According to an InfoWorld article on Gartner’s recent cloud report, “no other company comes close to Amazon (Web Services - AWS).” Cited for its innovation and agility, Gartner estimates that AWS’ cloud operation is five times larger than 12 of its competitors combined. Read the article here.

Government CIOs Prioritize Business Intelligence, Analytics, IT Management as Role Changes

Another recent report from Gartner listed the top principal business priorities for government CIOS. Those priorities are delivering operation results, improving IT applications and infrastructure, and reducing enterprise costs.
