Has Digital Design Changed the Way your Agency Does Business? Get Recognized for those Achievements!

Last year, the public sector was given a unique opportunity to showcase its achievements in digital design thanks to the [acronym] Magazine CAD Awards. This contest was the first of its kind to give the government the opportunity to share the creative ways it has used digital design/CAD software to improve the performance of their agency and enhance the delivery of citizen-centric services.

The results were pretty stunning. Last year’s winners and runners up proved that digital design is about so much more than lines on a screen or blueprint. It transforms the way the public sector plans, designs, builds and manages projects – including buildings, roads and highways, public works, manufacturing prototypes, and more.

The good news is that the contest is back for a second year! The 2012 [acronym] CAD Awards is now accepting nominations from federal and state/local agencies, as well as government contractors.

Who Can Enter and What’s in It For You?

You don’t have to work with just AutoCAD to enter; if you’ve worked with BIM, visualization, prototyping, collaboration design tools, and more – you are eligible to take part!

Take for example last year’s winner, – Joe Porostosky of The Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University – whose team impressed the judges with the staggering feat of transforming 2D AutoCAD floor plans of the Medical Center into 6 million square feet of BIM. Runners up include the New York Department of Design and Construction and government contractor Rich 3D.

So if you’ve used digital design software to change the business of government in your city, county or agency, or have put new ideas into practice that you want to share with your government peers, now’s your chance to share your achievements and findings and get the recognition you deserve!

More than just an award, [acronym] also pledges to showcase your achievements in blogs, print articles, social media and more. Download this glossy magazine dedicated to sharing the innovations of last year’s winners and runners up – to see what I mean!
