DLT Solutions Gives Back in a Big Way with Annual Toys for Tots Competition

Every year around the holiday season, we all get in the giving spirit. You put your spare change in a bucket, get an extra gift for a loved one, and maybe even bake some cookies for someone. Well, at DLT Solutions, the holiday spirit gets kicked up a few notches in the form of our annual Toys for Tots Competitive Toy Drive. Toys for Tots is a US Marine Corps-run program with the objective of helping less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas. Starting in mid-November, the DLT Social Committee takes the competition reins and divides the company into teams. Our various sales teams (Autodesk,   OracleSymantecQuest SoftwareRed Hatetc., as well as out accounting, HR, and other departments) are pitted against each other with a goal of bringing in the most new and unwrapped toys. Each year that we have done the competition format, we have brought in at least another 100 toys than the year before. When we started in 2002, we collected around 100 toys. The next year 200. The year after that 300. Last year we collected more than 700 toys! It began to look like Santa’s workshop in the halls of DLT. Sure, the winning team got a free pizza lunch, but it is really all about the kids. Every year the Marines come for a toy pick up, their car is too small. We take great pride in that here at DLT. That says a lot about the generosity, personality and ambitious attitude of this company and gives each employee a great sense of pride. Next year we hope that number is even larger.
