DLT Solutions Received the 2009 HR Leadership Award for Corporate Social Responsibility
In 2008, our employees raised money through the DLT Foundation to send a terminally ill colleague and her mother to Florida to fulfill her dying wish of seeing a NASCAR race and visiting Disney World. Just a couple of years before that, the employees raised money to buy an $18,000 wheelchair that wasn’t covered by insurance for one of our colleagues who was injured in a motorcycle accident.
Those are just a few examples of what earned DLT and the DLT Foundation the Sister Eymard Gallagher Award for Corporate Social Responsibility. The Sister Eymard Gallagher Award, part of the HR Leadership Awards, honors group leadership, dedication and achievements in helping to create positive change in the local communities.
The Foundation was created with a mission of giving back to the community. It is funded by a $10,000 annual contribution from the company. Employees and corporate fundraising events make up the rest of the donations, plus all the non-cash work of the company and foundation to support local charities. Beneficiaries of this fund are typically causes closest to the hearts of our employees, whether helping a colleague in need or donating to charities including the Parkinson’s Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
This is truly an employee foundation. DLT’s CEO does not dictate how the money is spent; a board of employees makes those decisions. To help boost our funds, all company social committee programs throughout the year are done with the intent of raising money for the foundation. The $20 donation/reservation fee collected at our company holiday party went directly into the foundation. So do all the proceeds from our annual Race for the Cup and Fight for the Cup competitions.

DLT's Josh Tehan has experienced every parent’s worst nightmare – being told your child has cancer. His son, Ethan, who is now cancer-free, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at the age of 3 and underwent three years of chemotherapy.
Now that Ethan is living the life of a typical, healthy 15-year-old, his dad wants to help other children and parents going through blood cancer treatment by raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).

It's finally here!
Amazon Web Services (AWS) just announced that the Elastic File System (or "EFS") is a live production service. The service is provisioned out of three regions currently: US-EAST-1, US-WEST-2, and EU-WEST-1.
EFS was originally announced over a year ago at AWS re:Invent in 2015. By AWS standards, the service has been in "preview" for quite some time. I'll admit to you, I was getting a little skeptical that it was going to make it out of preview, but hey, it's good to be wrong sometimes.

Terrestrial laser scanning or LiDAR is just one example of reality capture (or recap) at work. But recap hasn’t always been easy. Scanning techniques are often expensive and the task of incorporating and manipulating large data sets (point clouds) during the design process is tricky.
