DLT Solutions’s founder Tom Marrelli had a saying. Think Big. The simple two-word phrase, and DLT’s founding philosophy, meant to unleash your potential to do something big. Something “elephant-sized.”
Though Tom passed in 2002, his encouragement lives on. In his memory, DLT created The Founder’s Award. The Founder’s Award – sometimes referred to as The Elephant Award – recognizes an individual who has gone above and beyond normal expectations to deliver an “elephant-sized” performance.
Awarded to a single employee per quarter, The Founder’s Award winner is selected by the President and CEO Rick Marcotte based on nominations from managers and supervisors. It’s a big honor at DLT, one that comes with its share of perks including a reserved parking spot for three months, an Elephant Trophy for your desk, and $2,000. Plus each winner’s name is engraved on a plaque that hangs in the lobby of our Herndon, Virginia headquarters.
In the almost ten years since the award was created, only one employee has had the honor of receiving it twice. Sarah Lash, Manager, Autodesk Government, first won the Founder’s Award in Q3 2005 then again in Q1 2010.

DLT's Josh Tehan has experienced every parent’s worst nightmare – being told your child has cancer. His son, Ethan, who is now cancer-free, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at the age of 3 and underwent three years of chemotherapy.
Now that Ethan is living the life of a typical, healthy 15-year-old, his dad wants to help other children and parents going through blood cancer treatment by raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).

It's finally here!
Amazon Web Services (AWS) just announced that the Elastic File System (or "EFS") is a live production service. The service is provisioned out of three regions currently: US-EAST-1, US-WEST-2, and EU-WEST-1.
EFS was originally announced over a year ago at AWS re:Invent in 2015. By AWS standards, the service has been in "preview" for quite some time. I'll admit to you, I was getting a little skeptical that it was going to make it out of preview, but hey, it's good to be wrong sometimes.

Reality capture technology as a means of capturing existing as-built conditions has been around for some time. Terrestrial laser scanning or LiDAR is just one example of reality capture (or recap) at work. But recap hasn’t always been easy. Scanning techniques are often expensive and the task of incorporating and manipulating large data sets (point clouds) during the design process is tricky.
