Navy Admiral Michael Rogers made a recent point worth remembering: the internet was developed and built to be a source of trusted connections networking together, may that have been the government, higher ed, or early adopters. It wasn’t built for cybersecurity because it wasn’t needed. Admiral Rogers points to that as a reason why the Department of Defense is still pulling the pieces together for its network defenses.
