2012 Autodesk University Highlights

AU 2012 is finally over and it ended as one of the best AU Conferences to date. Missed the Event? Don’t fret; I’m here to fill you in. The first day of events started off with the keynote at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The keynotes speakers included Jeff Kowalski, CTO of Autodesk, who spoke on “Beyond Form: The Whole Design Process”. Kowalski was followed by Dezso Molnar, CTO of Molnari, Inc., who explained his innovative Gyrocycle. Christine Furstoss, Technical Director of Manufacturing & Materials Technologies at GE spoke about the Third Industrial Revolution. The audience was then treated with a surprise guest, Schuyler St. Leger, a 12 year old boy who specializes in energy. Autodesk CEO, Carl Bass, hopped on stage to join Schuyler in a very entertaining presentation. Lynn Allen, Autodesk Technical Evangelist ended with tips for AU and upcoming events. Expert Elite was launched and Carl Bass was a special guest. The annual AUGI Meeting and Beer Bust were also held later that evening. The final day of events was filled with many informational classes and ended with a celebration at the Hard Rock Hotel Throughout the AU Conference, the Exhibit Hall was opened to guests who were able to meet resellers and watch demonstrations. Jamie Jones, DLT Solutions Sales Representative spoke about his experience at AU. “I had such a great time having face to face interaction with customers at AU.  I truly believe our impact was felt through the DLT booth and the customers will benefit from stopping by.” DLT Solutions were one of the 165 exhibitors at AU this year at booth 538. The overwhelming amount of attendance did not go unnoticed. What brought in many of the customers to the DLT Solutions booth were the free giveaways, including the DLT portable fans. “I was pleasantly surprised how many customers took the time and spent the money to travel to Autodesk University. It was a pleasure meeting with them and putting a face to a name. We also met many CAD users who were unaware of DLT and interested in speaking with us further about our offerings and special government pricing. It was a big success and I was happy to be a part of it”, said DLT Solutions Senior Sales Representative, Veronica Hohenstein. Many customers came out just to meet some their sales representatives and put a face to a name. Kristen Savino, DLT Solutions Sales Representative says, “The booth was a huge success at Autodesk University. It was great to have face-to-face contact with our customers. We spent a lot of time informing contractors that they are eligible for government pricing and how DLT can assist them.” Autodesk University and the preparation behind it are now over and many are still recuperating from the event. After recovering from jetlag, catching up on emails, and preparing for the next federal fiscal year, attendees are now back to their daily routines. Missed this year’s AU conference?
